This is a unique mid 19th century (or older) Maori Taiaha.

This reddish brown aged wood is very attractive.

Interestingly, this specimen's eyes (specifically, its pupils)....are pegs. Quite unusual.

There's a very old hole in the shaft -- possibly for attachment of a feather bundle (lost ages ago).
