About the AuthaGraph World Map A world map that compensates for the shortcomings of existing world maps, showing almost exactly the area ratios and shapes of land areas, and containing the oceans on a rectangular plane without dividing them.

The map is created by dividing the surface area of the earth into 96 equal parts and converting them into a tetrahedron while maintaining their area ratios.

The tetrahedral map can be connected as seamlessly as possible, and triangles, parallelograms, rectangles, etc. can be cut out of the map from any point on the map.

The name comes from the words authalic (equal in area) and graph (diagram).

The AuthaGraph World Map shows the size of the continents almost exactly, the oceans without any gaps, and the world map is continuous both vertically and horizontally.

The poster shows that the flight from Tokyo to Brasilia via Houston is on the route from Tokyo to Brasilia, while the conventional equirectangular cylindrical or mercatorial world map shows it as a roundabout way.

The AuthaGraph World Map poster makes it easy to understand the relationship between countries, which was difficult to grasp with conventional world maps, and allows the viewer to visually understand a new world view in which all parts of the world are connected in all directions.

The world map, printed in color, is surrounded by other world maps without any space between them, so that visitors can understand, for example, the proximity of Antarctica, depicted on the far right, not only to South America but also to Africa and Australia.
