A well executed signed oil painting on canvas after “Comtesse d’Haussonville,” from 1845". This late 20th Century work is a copy painting created after an 1845 portrait of French essayist Louise de Broglie by well-listed French artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780 – 1867). It depicts the countess posed in a blue dress, standing next to a mirrored vanity with a wry smile. The piece is signed “George” in black paint to the lower right. It is presented without glass in a gold tone wooden frame with moulded gesso embellishments, fitted with hanging wire to the verso. Measuring an overall 28.0" W x 32.0" H x 2.5" D with a visible image of 19.5" W x 23.5" H.
