There are many aftermarket and OEM versions of this support and they all vary in length by 1/4"-1" in length. If you have a shorter support installed on your vehicle, you will not be able to open your hatch high enough to install ours if you leave one support in place. The old and shorter support will prevent from opening the hatch to it's full capacity. If you are unable to install your Gator Strut because the hatch will not open high enough, remove "BOTH" of your old supports.
