The Sukhoi Su-31 is a modern Russian sports and aerobatic mid-wing aircraft with a structure made mainly of composites with a fixed landing gear. The prototype flight took place in 1992, and serial production started two years later. The drive is provided by a single motor Vienna M-14PF with 364 hp. The machine is 6.82 meters long with a wingspan of 7.8 meters. The machine has no on-board armament.

The Su-31 aircraft was designed by the Suchoja intended for the civil market. The machine was created as a development of the previous model of this company - Su-29. Compared to its predecessor, it differs mainly in the use of a more powerful drive unit and smaller dimensions. Several versions of this aircraft were developed in the course of production, including: Su-31 (basic version), Su-31M2 (version with a reduced weight and larger wingspan) or Su-31X (version intended for export). The plane is characterized by very good maneuverability, good handling qualities and relatively low weight  

The Russian Sukhoi Su-31 is a single-seat aerobatic aircraft and an improved development of the successful Su-26. The rear fuselage is manufactured in a half-shell construction. The first flight took place on June 22, 1992 and the Su-31 was produced in series from 1994.
