Vintage 1972 Philips CE 1402 (German) Chemistry Set Chemie Experimentierkasten Good Condition.

This vintage Philips CE1402 Chemistry Set dates from 1972, and was a German children’s educational toy. It has its original instructions, and they are printed entirely in German. There are a few items missing, and these consist of a glass beaker, a curved glass rod, a glass stirring/measuring spoon, one large test tube, a cork, a 2 hole rubber bung, and a small ceramic dish for placing things over the methylated spirits burner.

The 2 large test tubes have some residue in their base (photo 20), the spirit burner tripod has some rust, and the instructions have a block of text that has separated from the spine (photo 19), but all pages are present. The set has been played with and some of the compounds have been used, but they appear almost full.

Everything else that should be, appears to be in there, including all four large, and seven small, glass tubes of compounds. The Chemistry Set is in good condition overall.

Included are a couple of additional test tubes and some litmus papers that weren’t originally in the set.

The box has some marking on the underside (photo 21), and one corner has a split just starting, but it is otherwise good, with light to moderate wear.

An interesting, 50 plus year old. vintage child’s toy. It would make a nice display piece, or if you read German could even be played with! Please see photos for full description and condition.
