Schwartz & Steiner, Austria (late 19th C) This elaborately engraved fish slice measures 11-3/4" long, and bears the diamond-shaped mark of Schwartz & Steiner as well as 950 in a rectangle (see close-up photo with arrows). The blade features pierced openwork along with the premium feature of engraving on both sides. This engraved design shows a stylized dolphin at the center, appropriate for a fish knife! There is also a raised coat of arms on the front of the handle. The handle is in the fiddle style with raised knotwork -- also on both sides.
