WWI French Brass Souvenir Ashtray Un Vrai Poilu Notre 75 En Action Cannon
Inscription translates to something like " A hairy situation, our 75th Artiliary in Action"
My History with this piece. Grandparents were from Alsace–Lorraine. My aunts would write letters in French to family in Alsace Lorraine. This piece was on display at my great aunts home and moved to my mothers home where it was displayed in a curio until 2009ish when i took it to my house after my mothers passing. I cannot remember the story but all i can remember was mom called it a souvenier from France.
Also i have seen on Etsy where the same ashtray was labled as copper. Seems to heavy for copper. So i disclaim the material for this sale. Sorry
