Thor's Hammer or Hammer of Thor is an ancient Norse symbol. In Norse mythology, Thor is the god of thunder, and his hammer named Mjölnir has the power of lightning. This Thor's hammer Viking necklace is made of solid stainless steel. The Thor's hammer has a Valknut symbol in the center and a rune symbol at the top. The design is reversible, the front is the same as the back. The name Valknut is not a traditional Viking name but a modern Norwegian title given to the symbol. It combines the words for a slain warrior, "valr," and knot "knut" to mean knot of slain warriors. This name Valknut, appears to be associated with the dead and with Odin, the god of war and the dead. This Norse pendant has a high polish finish with antiquing to highlight the details. The Mjolnir pendant (with bail) approximately measures 48mm long x 26mm wide x 9mm thick. The bail can accommodate a chain or cord necklace up to 3.8mm wide.
