What is "HOMARE" ? _____ 10 answers


"HOMARE" was devised and developed by violinists and viola players enrolled in professional orchestras based on the requests and hopes of famous soloists and veteran orchestral players. It is a purely domestic shoulder rest (made in Japan), and it is a patented "world's first" shoulder rest from the new shape and structure released from the last year of Heisei to the first year of Reiwa.

 

◎ What's different from the shoulder rest so far?

 

The innovation that was the decisive factor in obtaining the patent is the "position to attach one leg", which has a clearly different effect from conventional shoulder rests. This new concept of attaching one foot to the corner on the high-pitched side enhances the resonance of the instrument, and by restricting the position that the player can set, it is important to design it so that it leads to the ideal posture for both playing and the body. .

In the 50 years since shoulder rests first became commonplace, in exchange for "ease of play", various problems such as "stopping health and the sound of instruments" have been accompanied. Based on that, can we solve the problem of the existing shoulder rest?

 

Direction 1: Greatly reduce playability and noise

We conducted research and development based on the performance posture of the soloists known as Virtuoso, who left their names in history. It was derived by adopting acrylic).

Born from a single "inspiration", this product not only increases the volume of the instrument, but also reduces noise and accelerates response.

Direction 2: Realization of ease of stance and best position

In order to solve problems such as the shoulder rests wobbly and the fact that it is difficult to find the best position for me, I focused on how to attach them to the instrument.

As a result, by fixing one foot to the upper corner of the instrument, it is easier for the player to find the best position. Moreover, it can be adjusted in 10 steps for the violin (2 holes x 5 holes, 15 steps of 3 x 5 for the viola).

The shoulder rest requires not only the initial (static) position, but also the movement of the upper body and the dynamic elements that are important when playing sitting or standing.

In terms of processing, we commissioned a "Japanese craftsman" who has been working on special medical equipment and acrylic processing for over 60 years, specializing in special precision processing.
