From the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympic games, officially known as the Games of the XXIIth Olympiad and the first games to be held in a communist state. Historical because of the events and controversy surrounding the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Over fifty nations, including the United States, decided to boycott the games because of the 1979 Soviet invasion. The official posters promoted peace and friendship.
