This is an original vintage ceramic Valley Vista Pottery trinket or candy box made in California. The base measures approximately 5.5" across, and a lid with ceramic roses and leaves sits on top of the base; the box measures approximately 3.5" high with the lid on.
Overall, this ceramic box is in good vintage condition, with no apparent flaws except upon close inspection, which reveals only a few minuscule chips on the edges of the leaves and petals, none of them exceeding 1/16" in size (see the largest one in my 4th and 7th photos); each of these could be instantly rendered invisible with one slight dab from a marker, but I did not wish to do this myself.
