The CoeLux 45 LC (Low Ceiling) is an artificial skylight that simulates the Mediterranean sun year-round. The crisp bright Mediterranean sunlight is emitted through its window panel frame -- from which you can see bright sunlight emitted from the sun along with a window full of crisp, clear blue sky, both of which are simulated/created by this lighting fixture when it is switched on. This simulated skylight was created by experimental physicist and professor of optics, Paolo Di Trapani, based out of Como, Italy, who has spent 10 years working on simulating the Rayleigh scattering that occurs in the atmosphere to make it virtually impossible for the eye to distinguish his virtual experience of the sun and sky from the real thing. This unit can faithfully reproduce a blue sky and a realistic defined sun at the flick of a switch using 300 watts and is perfect for luxury walk-in closets, foyers, grand entrances or areas in need of natural bright daylight without windows. It creates an open-air feeling to help improve mood, which is why this product has been used in various facilities that may otherwise feel claustrophobic including radiation therapy centers, basements, spas, showrooms and other places that has rooms without windows.

The reproduction of natural light and the visual appearance of the sky and the sun, typical of the HE family, are concentrated in the size of the system, which is perfect in architectural contexts with medium heights. In the space where the unit is installed, a 45-degree beam of light emitted by the system projects a warm light spot with defined contours, enhancing the shadows and volumes of the objects.

This lighting unit is large and heavy and requires professional installation -- it is 650 pounds and when standing on its side to be transported is 7.5 feet in length (89 inches) x 5.5 feet in height (66 inches) x 2.2 feet width (26 inches).
