Under the Kangxi Emperor 康熙cash coins with the inscription Kangxi Tongbao 康熙通宝 were produced with both a Chinese character 汉文and a Manchu character 满文on the reverse side of the coin at provincial mints, while the Ministries of Revenue 戶部 ᠪᠣᠣ ᠴᡳᠣᠸᠠᠨ and Public Works 工部 ᠪᠣᠣ ᠶᡠᠸᠠᠨ in the city of Beijing, Zhili exclusively used Manchu characters.
