This 16 piece scene from France comes with a clear Plexiglas display case open at the back. The case measures 18 ½” long X 7 ½” tall and 5 ¼” deep.
This belonged to my great aunt and although I could have sold the pieces off one by one, she had it arranged exactly as she wanted it and to honor that, I decided to leave it that way.
Included:
· There are six buildings. The tallest measures 5” and the shortest 4.5”. The widest house is 2 ½” wide. The narrowest house is 1 ¾” wide. All houses were hand-made and hand-painted. All bases are signed J. Carlton by Dominique Gault. The buildings are:
· Le Pont Neuf
· Librairie
· Salon de The
· Bar du Metro
· Le Louvre
· Mainir (spelling is blurry on this one so not sure)
There is a 6 ¾” tall reticulated metal Eiffel Tower. The sides are beautifully cut out and PARIS is embossed on the front.
The little die cast metal figures are as follows:
· One trolley car that measures 2 5/8” in length. Its sides are plastered with advertisements for Poulin and Elle Magazine. Riders can be seen in the windows.
· Two ladies selling flowers from separate carts. They measure 1” in height and the carts are 1” long.
· One motorcycle that measures 7/8” long.
· One man near it wearing a striped shirt and carrying books.
· One balloon vendor.
· One street lamp that is 2” tall.
· One park bench.
I have examined all the pieces carefully and found only one minuscule
bit of damage. The tiny tip top of one chimney was probably knocked off at some
time. I have showed in close up in a photo.
