This is an antique Kosher ritual slaughter knife made by G. Grunewald (1890 - 1914) on or about 1910. It is in almost perfect condition except for minor surface scratches on the blade. These are not deep scratches. There is no pitting or rust on the blade. The blade might be just stainless steel but I read that they were usually high carbon with stainless added. Regardless, the blade is very nice. There is no sheath available for this knife.
The overall length is 23 1/4", with a 5 1/4" bone handle, and an 18" blade.
The bone handle is perfect with no discernible defects or marks. This piece is for the ritual Kosher slaughter of acceptable animals.
This was made by G. Grunewald in Konigsberg, Prussia (Kaliningrad, Russia).
THIS PIECE IS ON CONSIGNMENT SO THERE IS NO RETURN.
