Mounting Shoe For DX * StarSense Explorer iPhone Bracket…On any Telescope.    (*only)

Yes indeed, the StarSense Explorer iPhone program for guiding your viewing of the night sky, is a game changer. Many have wished they could mount it on their larger dob (as shown in the pics mounted on an 18") (and on the original StarSense Explorer telescope that did not come with the Co. supplied tripod)

Offered is a hand crafted mounting shoe that allows the DX StarSense bracket to be mounted on your OTHER telescope. (sorry... this won't work on the LT style mount or on GEM scopes)

NOTE: This offering does NOT provide any of the Pat.Pend. parts from the original Co. offered StarSense Explorer telescope.

I used this on my 14" Hubbel optics home made telescope (near last pic) last night, and looking fwd to taking my Hubbel optics 18" telescope out for a spin  (worked even better). and on a 12" DOB (no holes needed)

 

It WORKS!!!

The mounting method  for your telescope is up to you. On my 18" it was a simple 10-24 flat head screw... on my truss 14" dob  it was a bit more involved. (msg. me for hints or help) pic shows mounting shoe attached to a 12" dob... using a nylon strap (no holes to be drilled)
