This mandolin sounds better than most mandolins that sell for $1500 or more. These mandolins rarely come up for sale, and this one is in new, unused condition.

This mandolin does not include a case, but we have many for sale including hard shell and soft case gig bags, both new and used.

Solidly built, with a clean tone, this Loar mandolin is a higher quality instrument than it may let on. Solid maple and spruce construction, with streamlined ivoroid binding and nickel hardware, Grover tuners and a very thin polyurethane finish give this instrument both build quality and tonal excellence. Fully set up and ready to go, this mandolin has a warm and inviting tone and is very easy to fret and play. A fantastic mandolin in all aspects- from looks to sound.

With hand-shaped x-bracing and stripped down appointments, the hand-carved LM-220 gives players the sound they’ve come to expect from The Loar.

The LM-220 is assembled with a solid hand-carved spruce top and solid maple back and sides. The maple neck has a comfortable rounded v-profile to fit in the hand perfectly. For players who prefer a more streamlined look, the LM-220 has a single layer of ivoroid binding. High-quality Grover tuners, nickel hardware and an extremely thin lacquer finish all combine to make this professional-quality instrument an amazing value.
