This is a very cool and rare Dale Keown piece. It is an early unpublished page by Keown, before his later classic run on The Incredible Hulk which brought him to fame as a comic artist. We have it listed as pen and ink, but it might be marker as well. It features a pretty brilliant set-up, as it is drawn as a comic book page, but seems to be a letter with Dale drawing himself? Or is it the other way around? It is noted at the top "Art & Story By Dale Keown", and ends on a major cliffhanger, with Slayah gone without a trace, and it's up to Dale to find her! "To Be Continued Next Letter! Be There!"
It is done on regular thin paper stock which measures approximately 11 5/8" by 15 1/2", and has some general handling wear, and a small tear in the lower left blank margin area. It's not very noticeable, but if you hold the paper up to light, you can also see there are multiple tiny pinholes, as it seems the page was tacked up at one point. The page still displays well, but we thought we should mention it. An awesome pre-Marvel Comics piece, by an artist who would go on to become one of the great artists of the Modern Age. Keown is an incredible artist, a legend who is best-known for one of the greatest runs in the history of The Incredible Hulk together with Peter David at Marvel Comics, and then as a creator of Pitt at Image Comics. This is an amazing piece that would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be an outstanding addition to any collection.
