Title: Vintage Japanese Pottery Ikebana Well-Bucket Vase w/ Marks. 1900's.

Japanese Art and Culture is Described as one of Beauty that is "Imperfect, Impermanent, and Incomplete", but rather than being looked at as Imperfect, the History and Uniqueness make it Perfect.
Description: A superb hand-sculpted pottery vase produced approximately 50 years ago, in one of the oldest wood-firing kiln in the Shiga prefecture of Japan.
XXX The pottery has an archaic flavor with its coil-built cylindrical form and irregular contours. The mineral glaze surface contains small dimples and other impurities from the wood-firing kiln, which give the vessel its striking appearance.
XXX The sculpture has a beautiful patina effect, artistically crafted in wonderful mottled variations, with the olive-green glaze spattered over the ceramic body, dribbling down the brown clay bucket form.
Note: Makers Mark signed at the base, incised.
