An impressionist oil painting of a garden by American contemporary artist Stephen Motyka ((b. 1964). Stephen was born in Rhode Island and started painting and drawing at a young age. He maintained his interest in art as a hobby throughout his schooling. Upon graduation from high school, Stephen started taking courses at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he honed his skills both with watercolor and oils. While in design school, he became influenced by many different styles of painting. Over the years, he has come into his own as a professional artist and as an art collector as well. Oil on panel, signed lower right, signed with title inscribed on verso “The Colorful Garden,” and housed in a Stanford White gilt frame.
