Valentine's Day February 14, 1964, just two years after Danny Thomas opened St Jude Children’s Children’s Research Hospital, Elvis gives Mr. Thomas the USS POTOMAC, the yacht was once owned by President Franklin D Rosevelt, Elvis showed up in person to hand over the keys and the deed. The yacht was sold and the proceeds were used to benefit the Children's hospital.
