Instructions for Heat Moulding
  1. Try the tray in the mouth and assess any areas which may require tray adjustment e.g. Tuberosity region in edentulous cases or width of upper molar teeth region in dentate cases.
  2. Dip the selected part of the tray to be moulded in hot water at 70C for 20 seconds, the material will become soft and malleable at this stage.
  3. Mould the material to the desired shape. Retain in this position until hard (approx. 10 seconds). Allow the material to cool or dip in cold running water.
  4. The material will retain the exact moulded shape and maintain its full strength. This process may be repeated until the desired shape is achieved.
  5. The modified tray can now be used to take the impression.
