Alexander Alekhine was world chess champion from 1927 to 1935, when he lost his title to Dr. Max Euwe. He won the rematch with Euwe in 1937.  Unlike his predecessors, he was an obsessive writer. Here are his own words on his best games from 1908 to 1937. A classic worth every penny. He wrote the first volume of games to justify his challenge to Jose Raoul Capablanca for the world championship. He wrote the second volume after he lost, then recaptured, the world title to Dr. Euwe. He includes 5 games from his match with Capablanca and 13 games from his matches with Dr. Euwe.  The book is probably a first edition.

The other book is the volume that covers 1908-1923. It is the first volume, and this is the sixth printing from 1960.
