Here's a way to redress the balance.  This is part of an opening repertoire based entirely on attacking the king's bishop two square, whether you are White or Black.  It helps the player attack, always attack!  There are three advantages to this method.

First, surprise value.  Your opponents will never see it coming.

Second, it closes your mind to seeking out draws.

Third, you can stop wasting time studying endings.  You will either win--or lose--by checkmate.

This is one of the follow-up monographs to flesh out the openings recommended in the repertoire. It covers the two gambits of the nineteenth century American player, Armand Blackmar.  The first is an answer to the Center Counter Defense (1. P-K4 P-Q4, 2. P-Q4 PxP, 3. P-KB3 PxP, 4. NxP).  For the sake of completeness, there is also his gambit against the Dutch Defense (1. P-Q4 P-KB4, 2. P-K4 PxP, 3. P-KB3 PxP, 4. NxP)  This attack sacrifices one pawnsfor an all-out attack.
