The book is in soft cover and in very good condition. It is the companion to an exhibition held at the Milwaukee
Art Museum from April 24 to August 16, 1992. It is well illustrated in color
and has extensive biographies of key artists participating.
A great catalogue, with tons of useful
biographical information and terrific illustrations. 120 works are listed and
illustrated. The artwork of Rigaud Benoit is featured on the cover.
In 1991, Milwaukee collectors Richard and Erna Flagg donated one of
the world's most important groups of Haitian printing and sculpture to the
Milwaukee Art Museum. Their gift forms the centerpiece of A HAITIAN
CELEBRATION: ART & CULTURE, an exhibition celebrating the gift of this
treasure to the Art Museum and to the Milwaukee community.
