1. The first KERN brand is Kern Karl Chr.KG Silberwarenfabrik, Schwäbisch Gmünd. The company was founded in 1890 by Joseph Schmid and acquired in 1951 by Karl Christian Kern.

2. The next mark is "crescent and crown" and the number 835 is the sign of German silver and the silver content in thousandths.

Cruet height  5 1/2 inches. It is in excellent condition and serves as an excellent example of German craftsmanship.
