This interesting biography of Jacques Pierre Brissot known as  Brissot De Warville- tells the life story and personal involvement of the leader of the revolutionary but moderate Girondin Movement in the French Revolution. Friend to American Thomas Paine, this group was at first at the forefront of the French Revolution but later came into conflict with more radical parties in the Revolution.  The author uses the writings of Brissot to speak for themselves and we are able to get a good picture of the man who helped to start the great French Revolution but was eventually executed by the very people he had shared ideals of independence, freedom, and equality with.
