Up for Purchase: Art Deco Costumes by George Barbier" contains forty full-color plates and is part of the publishers "Poster Art Series".  Published by Bracken Books and printed in Italy, Art Deco Costumes was copyrighted in 1988 and contains an introduction by Madeleine Ginsburg the Curator from the Department of Textile Furnishings and Dress at the Victoria and Albert Museum at that time.

The book consists of beautiful full color plates on grey toned paper. Ms. Ginsburg writes of George Barbier,"His work covers the period generally referred to as the Age of Art Deco, the term taken from the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Art Decoratifs et Industriels Moderns. His range was wide and he illustrated books for all ages, designed costumes for film, theatre and ballet, as well as fashions for the couture and the ready-to-wear."

This vintage oversized book (15") is in good condition. There is some light bumping at the corners, but the pages are clean. A great book to display on the coffee table.
