SAFETY RULES

General Safety Rules

1.     Do not run, crowd, or engage in rough actions anywhere in Kodak Park.

2.     Report immediately to your foreman any accident or injury, no matter how slight.

3.     Report to your foreman any dangerous or unusual condition.

4.     Do not wear shoes having heels of less than 1 ½ inch in width or length.  Smaller heels will jam in some of the fire escapes and, therefore, are not permitted in the Finished Film Department

5.     Keep the floors free from loose particles or foreign substances, such as oil, grease, etc., which might cause accidents from tripping or slipping.

6.     When passing through light locks or unfamiliar places in the darkrooms, walk slowly, single file, with hands extended, and call “Watch Out.”  Keep to the right of the aisle.  This practice prevents collision.

7.     Keep passageways and doorways clear of skids, unattended trucks, or other obstructions.  This is especially important in the darkrooms where a person might be unable to see an obstruction which might cause a serious injury.

8.     Always open a stepladder fully before using.

9.     Pile supplies and equipment straight, securely, and only to a reasonable height, so that there is no danger of their falling.  Never store skids on edge.

10.                        When using cleaning fluids or solvents, be careful not to inhale th fumes.

11.                        Carbon tetrachloride (Chemical No. 9) is to be used only in manner and quantities approved by the Safety Department.

12.                        If you lift heavy objects, you should consider using safety shoes to protect your feet against possible toe injuries.  These shoes, which are neat and comfortable, are sold at cost in Building 49.

·         During the period of shoe rationing, rule (4) will not be enforced, although employees are urged for safety reasons to adhere to this rule.
