Battle of Crecy 1346 – 1674 old print - engraving

Dating from the 1674 edition of Historische Chronica by Johann Ludwig Gottfried.

It is an original page from the book – NOT a copy.

Condition: excellent (the print is over 340 years old!!) – some rough edges to the page – the roughest edges have been trimmed to avoid tearing – some underlining of words (image is free of marks)

Tha battle of Crecy (occasionally called the Battle of Cressy in English) took place on 26 August 1346 near Crécy in northern France and was one of the most important battles of the Hundred Years War. The combination of new weapons and tactics have caused many historians to consider this battle the beginning of the end of classic chivalry.
