Land Rover Series Gearbox Mainshaft Nut Tool
Land Rover Special Tool Number: 600300.
HNJ Engineering are offering a remanufactured equivalent of
Land Rover Special Tool 600300.
This tool is used for tightening up the mainshaft nut on the
end of the gearbox output shaft to a torque of 85lbf.ft. (Torque figure
courtesy of the Land Rover Green Bible).
These tools are manufactured from EN24T Steel using CNC (Computer Numerical Control) methods in the UK.
EN24T
Steel gives the tool high tensile strength, shock
resistance, good ductility and resistance to wear.
This tool is designed to accept a 1/2" drive wrench.
This is to ensure optimum engagement of the teeth on the tool and the
main shaft lock nut; it is not uncommon to find main shaft lock nuts that have
been tightened using hammer and chisel.
