This can be an extremely successful fly tying material for the use in flies when fishing for Several species of trout but are perhaps best known for being fished for small still water Rainbows with a weighted version of the fly fished under a bung or indicator.

These tails can be easily tied onto the hook by stripping the outer flue away from the loose(flat) end to reveal the central core.
