A humorous look at the last 3/4 century as seen through the eyes of an old Iowa codger. Few topics escape the author's sharp wit, from tattoos to music to language to politics. All generations will find something to laugh about in this irreverent look at popular culture of today compared to the post-WW2 period through the 80's and beyond. If you are easily offended, read this book with caution.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK unless you are prepared to take the day off to read it from beginning to end and to laugh all the way through! Wonderful witty and caustic observations of the human condition from tattoos to hairstyles. Loved it! M.J. Lucas

Flinn’s wit and wry humor had us entertained throughout this book. Each chapter (topic) is covered with this old codger’s very thorough, thoughtful and descriptive verbiage. Highly recommended whether you agree with him or not. We happened to agree with him and are all in. J.F. Berry

Even with the author's curmudgeonly take on modern live, he still wouldn't trade his 3/4 century on earth for another. Chapters are really quirky essays or tongue-in-cheek editorials and tidbits of history on growing up on a 1950s farm, tattoos and piercings, TV ads, how 1950s Rock & Roll was the real thing (I agree), the F-word, Iowa weather, get rich schemes, early sports cars, polio, Sputnik, politicians, car dealers, scandals in the news, class reunions, and his 2002 T-Bird. Unlike the Nixon tapes, expletives are not deleted and some subject matter is irreverent, but it's an amusing take on being alive by a talented wordsmith. Joy Neal Kidney
