IMMEDIATE RELEASE · FLUSH FORM · UK STOCK SINCE 2016
High Strength · Flush Form · No Fillers · Vegan Capsules
Niacin 500mg NE per capsule — 3125% NRV. Food supplement — not a medicine.
⚠️ READ BEFORE BUYING — THIS PRODUCT CAUSES A STRONG SKIN FLUSH
This is the flush form of vitamin B3. At 500mg it produces a strong and unmistakable skin flush in most people. That is the known effect of immediate-release nicotinic acid, not a fault with the product.
Expect: warmth or heat across the face, neck, chest and arms · visible redness · tingling, prickling, itching or a burning sensation. Onset is typically 10–20 minutes and it commonly lasts 30 minutes to 2 hours.
If you have not taken flush niacin before, this is not the product to start with. Our No Flush B3 Nicotinamide is the same vitamin without the vascular effect.
📋 HOW TO TAKE IT
1. Start with one capsule. Do not take more on your first use, whatever your experience with other B3 forms.
2. Always take with food. This reduces the intensity of the flush considerably.
3. Drink plenty of water.
4. Avoid alcohol and hot drinks around the time you take it — both intensify the flush.

Authorised UK Health Claims for Niacin — and What They Mean
Six claims are authorised for niacin under retained Regulation EC No 1924/2006. These are the only claims made for this product, and each is stated below in its exact authorised wording, followed by a plain-language explanation of the mechanism behind it. The explanation describes how the nutrient works; it does not add anything to the claim itself.
⚡ "Niacin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism"
Niacin is the precursor your body uses to build NAD and NADP — two coenzymes that sit at the centre of how cells release energy from food. Practically every step that converts carbohydrate, fat and protein into usable energy depends on them. Without adequate niacin the body cannot make enough of these coenzymes, and energy metabolism cannot run normally.
🔋 "Niacin contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue"
This follows directly from the energy metabolism role. Because NAD-dependent reactions are how cells actually generate usable energy, a shortfall in niacin shows up as tiredness. The claim reflects restoring normal function rather than adding a stimulant effect — niacin is not a stimulant.
🧠 "Niacin contributes to the normal function of the nervous system"
Nerve tissue is metabolically demanding — the brain alone uses around a fifth of the body's energy despite being a fraction of its weight. Those cells rely on the same NAD-dependent pathways, which is why niacin status affects how normally the nervous system operates.
🧩 "Niacin contributes to normal psychological function"
The same coenzyme systems support the enzymatic reactions involved in normal brain function, including steps in neurotransmitter metabolism. Historically, the psychological symptoms of pellagra were one of the clearest signs of severe niacin deficiency.
✨ "Niacin contributes to the maintenance of normal skin"
Skin renews itself constantly, and rapidly dividing cells need a reliable supply of the NAD-dependent coenzymes that drive cell metabolism and DNA repair. Skin changes were the most visible feature of pellagra, the classic niacin deficiency disease, which is why this claim exists.
🫁 "Niacin contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes"
Mucous membranes line the mouth, throat and digestive tract, and like skin they turn over quickly. The same high cell-turnover requirement applies, which is why membrane changes also appeared in niacin deficiency alongside the skin signs.
Note: these explanations describe established nutritional biochemistry. They are not claims about treating, preventing or improving any condition, and none is made. Food supplement — not a medicine.
Flush or No Flush — Which Form Do You Want?
| Nicotinic Acid (this product) | Nicotinamide (No Flush) | |
|---|---|---|
| Skin flush | Yes — strong at 500mg | No |
| Release | Immediate | Immediate |
| Authorised niacin claims | All six apply | All six apply |
| Suits | Buyers who specifically want the flush form | Buyers who want B3 without the vascular effect |
Both are vitamin B3 and both carry the same six authorised claims. The difference is the flush. If you do not specifically want it, buy the nicotinamide instead.
Managing The Flush — What It Is And How To Reduce It
The flush is normal and it is expected. It is not an allergic reaction, it is not a sign the product is wrong, and it is not something going wrong. Nicotinic acid triggers a short-lived widening of the small blood vessels just under the skin surface. More blood reaches the skin, so you feel warmth and see redness. It passes on its own.
It is usually strongest the first time you take it. Most people find the response becomes noticeably milder with regular use as tolerance builds, often within days. If your first capsule produces a strong flush, that is the typical experience at this strength — not a reason to assume the product does not suit you.
Six things that reduce it
1. Always take it with food
This is the single most effective step. Taking it on an empty stomach produces the sharpest flush; taking it in the middle of a meal slows absorption and softens the response considerably.
2. Start with one capsule
One capsule, with food, so you learn how you personally respond before deciding anything else. Experience with no-flush B3 tells you nothing about how you will respond to this form.
3. Drink plenty of water
A full glass with the capsule and more afterwards. Being well hydrated generally makes the experience more comfortable.
4. Avoid alcohol and hot drinks
Both widen blood vessels themselves, so either one around the time you take it will make the flush noticeably stronger. Avoid hot showers and baths for the same reason.
5. Take it consistently
Tolerance builds with regular use and is generally lost after a break. Coming back after a gap often means a stronger flush again, so treat a restart like a first dose.
6. Pick your moment
Take your first one at home with time to spare, not before work, a meeting or going out. Sit somewhere cool and let it pass.
If a flush does happen
Sit down somewhere cool. Sip cool water. Loosen anything tight at the neck. It typically begins 10–20 minutes after taking the capsule, peaks fairly quickly and settles within 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Stop taking it and speak to your GP if the flush does not settle, or if you experience dizziness, faintness, nausea, chest discomfort, swelling or difficulty breathing. Those are not part of the normal flush response.
⚠️ Full Safety Information — Please Read In Full
This is a high-strength product. 500mg per capsule is many times the Nutrient Reference Value. Nicotinic acid at this level has a number of well-documented contraindications and medicine interactions. Read this section before ordering — if anything below applies to you, speak to your GP or pharmacist first.
Do not take this product if you are
▸ Under 18 years of age
▸ Pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding
▸ Known to be sensitive or allergic to niacin or nicotinic acid

Speak to your GP before use if you have or have had
▸ Any liver condition or a history of liver problems
▸ Kidney disease or impaired kidney function
▸ Gallbladder disease
▸ A stomach or peptic ulcer
▸ Diabetes or any problem with blood sugar control

▸ Migraine
▸ A thyroid condition
▸ Glaucoma or any existing eye condition
▸ Surgery planned — stop taking it beforehand and tell your surgeon
Medicine interactions — speak to your GP or pharmacist first
▸ Statins and other cholesterol-lowering medicines — taking niacin alongside a statin is associated with an increased risk of muscle problems, including myopathy and rhabdomyolysis. Do not combine them without medical advice.
▸ Blood pressure medication — nicotinic acid widens blood vessels, which can add to the effect of these medicines and cause dizziness or faintness.
▸ Diabetes medication or insulin — nicotinic acid at high intake can affect blood glucose control and dosages may need review.
▸ Anticoagulants and antiplatelet medicines including warfarin and aspirin.
▸ Bile acid sequestrants such as cholestyramine or colestipol — these reduce absorption, so dosing needs to be separated.
▸ Thyroid medication.
▸ Alcohol — increases both the flush and the strain on the liver. Avoid around the time you take it.
Not a substitute for prescribed medication
This is a food supplement. It is not a medicine and must not be used in place of any medication prescribed for you. If you are taking something for your heart, cholesterol, blood pressure or any other condition, do not stop or change it — speak to your GP.
Stop taking it and seek medical advice if you experience
▸ A flush that does not settle, or is severe enough to be distressing
▸ Dizziness, faintness or a rapid heartbeat
▸ Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or loss of appetite
▸ Yellowing of the skin or eyes, or unusually dark urine
▸ Blurred vision or any change in your eyesight
▸ Muscle pain, tenderness or weakness
▸ Swelling, rash or difficulty breathing — seek urgent medical attention
Do not exceed the recommended intake. Prolonged intake at high levels may affect liver function. Do not take continuously at high intake without medical supervision.
Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
