These pre-wired 12V warm white 1206 SMD LEDs are ready to install out of the package — each LED has an integrated resistor and approximately 15cm (6 inches) of lead wire, so there's no soldering or external resistor math required for 12V DC circuits.
Each LED measures 3.2mm × 1.5mm (1206/3216 footprint) and runs at 12V forward voltage with 20mA current draw. The warm white output produces a soft, natural light with no color temperature rating — just a gentle glow in the 300–400 mcd brightness range. The clear diffuse lens spreads light across a 110° viewing angle, making it well suited for illumination applications rather than tight-beam indicator use.
Common applications
The warm white color and pre-wired 12V design make these especially well matched for automotive instrument cluster restoration and model railroad layout lighting, where cool white can look harsh or clinical.
- Automotive instrument clusters: Warm white gives a clean, modern look in GM trucks and SUVs (2007–2014 Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Escalade), Toyota Tacoma (2004–2011), Nissan Xterra and Frontier, and VW Mk4/Mk5 (Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat). The 1206 size is the confirmed replacement size in these platforms.
- Model railroad building and layout lighting: Warm white is the go-to for lit structure interiors, street lamp glow, and platform lighting in HO and N scale layouts. The 3.2mm body is nearly invisible once installed, and the 15cm leads give enough slack for routing inside structure walls.
- DCC decoder lighting: Compatible with DCC decoder headlight and ditch light outputs; warm white reads more prototypically correct than cool white for older steam and early diesel locomotive headlights.
- Hobbyist PCB and Eurorack builds: The 1206 footprint is the most beginner-accessible SMD size — hand-solderable without magnification or reflow equipment. Common in custom Eurorack synthesizer panel indicators and DIY LED art boards.

Wiring & power notes
DC power recommended: LEDs are designed for DC. Running on AC will cause flickering and reduce lifespan. If using a low-voltage AC source (model railroad transformer, DCC track voltage), convert it to DC with a MB1S bridge rectifier plus a 100µF 50V electrolytic capacitor for clean, ripple-free output.
