About This Product
LeTech Leather Repair Paint is a specialist all-in-one leather colourant that combines a primer, colourant and topcoat in one. It simplifies your workflow while curing to a tough, flexible finish that resists cracking and peeling. Ideal for sofas, car interiors, handbags, shoes and clothing. Water-based and low odour.
Includes Premium Foam Application Brush
Every bottle is supplied with a foam paint application detailing brush for thin, even layers with greater control—ideal for repairing scuffs, scratches, small wear areas and edge recolouring.
How to Use — Professional Prep & Application
Best conditions: 15–25 °C, low humidity, dust-free area. Protect surrounding surfaces.
1) Assessment
• Confirm finished/pigmented leather (not aniline/suede/nu-buck).
• Identify issues: colour loss, scuffs, cracking, grease or dye transfer.
• Select the nearest shade; refine blend after preparation if needed.
2) Deep Clean & Degrease (critical)
• Vacuum seams/creases to remove grit.
• Clean with a leather cleaner using a soft brush/sponge; wipe residue with a lint-free cloth.
• For oils/grease: apply leather degreaser, allow draw-out, then wipe and allow to dry fully.
• For dye transfer/ink: use the correct remover, neutralise with cleaner and allow to dry.
3) Key the Surface & Minor Repairs
• Lightly key shiny/worn areas with P600–P1000 abrasive to promote adhesion; wipe dust.
• Fill nicks/creases with flexible leather filler in thin layers; dry fully and sand smooth between layers.
4) Mask & Test
• Mask adjacent panels/stitching if needed.
• Shake thoroughly. Test a small hidden patch; adjust by mixing neighbouring tones if required.
5) Application
Sponge/Pad: Dab on very thin coats, feathering edges to blend.
Brush: Use a soft foam brush; apply light coats and tip off gently.
Airbrush/Spray: 0.3–0.5 mm tip, light, even passes from ~15–20 cm.
6) Drying Between Coats
• Allow each coat to become touch-dry (≈10–20 min). A hairdryer on low can speed surface drying—don’t overheat.
• Build colour gradually until coverage is uniform (2–5 coats typical).
7) Finish & Sheen
• Light nib-sand with P1000 if needed; wipe clean.
• Built-in topcoat included; for high-wear areas you may add an extra compatible clear topcoat (Matt/Satin/Gloss) to match surrounding sheen.
Coverage & Tools
500 ml normally covers a small car interior or armchair.
1000 ml is enough for a standard car interior or 3-seater sofa.
• Tools: foam brush, foam pads, lint-free cloths, P600–P1000 abrasive, masking tape; optional airbrush/spray.
Safety
• Water-based, low odour. Ventilate well. Avoid eye/skin contact. Keep away from children and pets.
