This listing contains a very broad range of bearings for many different applications. Each bearing is listed individually in quantities of 1. The bearings are listed by size & Bearing Number, for example 5x10x4mm - 105.

Once the model is selected you can then select the Bearing Type which will only display the available options depending on which model you have selected. We have an explanation for each bearing type below.

You can then select the Seal Type which will display the options available for the options that have been selected in the first 2 boxes.

Please contact us if you are unsure of what bearings are required to suit your application, the bearings on this listing are used in hundreds of different applications and some will be better suited than others.

Bearing Types

Chrome Steel

SAE 52100 Chrome Steel is the most common material used in deep groove ball bearings. This type of steel is useful in most applications, it's not recommended for use in fishing reels or any environment where it is exposed to water, it has low corrosion resistance.

Advantages are high hardness for long life, low cost for high performance, operates at temperatures up to 150c, lower noise and higher hardness compared to stainless steel.

When selecting this option, you are receiving an ABEC 3 rated chrome steel bearing that is pre-lubricated and ready to use.

V2 Premium Steel

The V2 Premium Bearing is a Chrome Steel Bearing manufactured to a higher standard. Our V2 Premium Bearings are manufactured to ABEC 7 specifications, they are more precise with closer tolerances. The V2 Premium Bearings are contructed with grade 10 balls, the bearing races are within .001mm. From our testing, we have found that the V2 Premiums remain smoother for longer, outlasting any standard bearing with less chance of a failure, they are made to the highest standard that our manufacturer can produce.

Stainless Steel

Our Stainless Steel bearings are manufactured from 440 Grade Stainless Steel. This grade of steel offers greater corrosion protection with high resistance to salt water and many chemicals.
We are Australia's largest supplier of Fishing Reel bearings and the stainless steel range is designed specifically for this purpose.
Plaig Bearings Stainless Steel bearings are manufactured to ABEC 7 specifications, designed to be quiet and smooth.

Hybrid Ceramic

Our Hybrid Ceramic Bearings are constructed with Chrome Steel Rings and Si3N4 Ceramic Balls. There are many different options on this listing, some have chrome steel retainers whilst others have PA46 Nylon retainers, the ABEC ratings vary depending on which option is selected. Please contact us if you would like information on a particular bearing, we also have all bearings listed individually on our eBay store.

Hybrid Ceramic bearings can run at higher RPM's than steel bearings due to the lower centrifugal force generated by ceramic balls, they are lighter and harder than steel. Ceramic bearings are less subjected to ball skidding under initial torque / acceleration and they do not suffer from heat expansion. These 2 factors contribute to wear and when used in the right conditions a ceramic bearing will outlast chrome steel or stainless bearings.

Ceramic balls are corrosion resistant and non magnetic.

Hybrid Ceramic Premium

The Premium option is a Stainless Steel / Ceramic Hybrid Bearing, these are our Ceramic Fishing Reel Bearings. They are available with non-contact rubber seals, they are the only bearing we sell that is not pre-lubricated and sold dry. This allows customers to use the lubricant of their choice.

All Hybrid Ceramic Premium bearings are manufactured to ABEC 7 Specifications with Grade 10 Si3N4 Ceramic Balls, the perfect combination for the serious fisherman.

Seal Types

PTFE Contact Rubber Seals

The PTFE Rubber is bonded to a metal washer, the inner lip of the seal makes contact with the inner ring of the bearing to provide an effective seal against smaller particles such as dirt and dust, whilst protecting the lubricant from contamination and from leaking.

PTFE Non-Contact Rubber Seals

This is the same as above except the rubber does not contact the inner ring, this is only used in our Hybrid Ceramic Premium Bearings.

Non-Contact Metal Shields

Metal Shields are designed to prevent larger particles from entering the bearing and providing a barrier to prevent grease from escaping. This seal type allows for higher RPM's
