Soil Moist has been developed to reduce the amount of water needed to maintain vigorous plants and other green goods. When mixed in the soil, the crystals will soften and swell as water is added and absorbed. When the potting system dries, the polymer will release its water to the plant. Soil Moist acts as a water reservoir--even during periods of drought the stored water is released to the plant. The expansion and retraction of the polymer during the watering cycle helps soil aeration, which is important to all plants.

Note: Soil Moist must be incorporated into the soil at the root level of the plant/green good. Do not top dress or place on the surface.

Soil Moist is a synthetic acrylic copolymer. The polymer is non-toxic and safe to use in all landscape applications. When added to landscape and planting applications, Soil Moist will continue to work for an extended period of time.

Shelf life for the polymer is indefinite (keep in a dry place).

Since our products are not food products, we recommend to keep out of reach of children or have adult supervision should children be in contact with the polymer. The polymer should not be put down any drains. If the product should go down a drain, use straight table salt or rock salt and hot water to flush.

It is an effective water management aid that is ideal for interior and exterior plantings such as for trees, shrubs, containers, baskets, flower beds, vegetables and turf. Soil Moist acts as a form of insurance for the plant and is environmentally friendly.

The spike is a safe non-toxic polyacrylamide that can be used

in several horticultural applications.

When placed in the soil, the spike will soften and swell as

water is added and absorbed. When the soil dries, the

spike will release the water to the plant.

The spike is made from polyacrylamide and crosslinked

with bisacrylamide. The spike will store over 40 times its

weight in tap water, releasing a steady supply of water as

your plants need it. It can reduce plant waterings by 50%.

The bisacrylamide crosslinker in the polymer makes it

much stronger than standard polymers in the horticultural

market. The product will not break down with high

concentrations of salt from water, soil or from any

fertilizer. The initial time to absorb water is slow. After the

initial absorption, the polymer will re-absorb water much

faster.

Soil Moist Plus Spikes with fertilizer contain a balanced

120 day timed release fertilizer. The Nitrogen,

Phosphorous and Potassium have been polymer coated

to provide a 5% coated slow release. The Spike will feed

plants up to 120 days and continue to work for several

seasons reducing waterings. After three to four months

use your favorite fertilizer.

The spike can be molded with custom blended fertilizers

and chemicals. The polymer gives a timed diffusion rate

release on chemicals and fertilizers molded within the

polymer. Available in custom shapes and sizes. Minimum

The spike is ideal for containers that need a post

application of polymers. The spike eliminates the

requirement to poke holes in the soil and measure small

amounts of polymer.

Place the proper amount of spikes beneath the surface

of the soil as close to the roots as possible. Use a pencil

or similar object. Cover the holes and water the plant on

a normal basis for the first seven to twelve days for the

polymer to fully absorb water. Watering reductions and

rates can then be established.

Please note:  Some varieties of water-loving plants may

require one to two more spikes per container size.
