Vintage Louis Marx & Co. O Gauge Baltimore & Ohio Tin Lithographed Diesel Train Set – 5 Pieces – Parts or Repair

Original postwar Marx tinplate train collection featuring a matching Baltimore & Ohio diesel locomotive pair matching caboose, and two freight cars.

The two B&O diesel units consist of one motorized locomotive and one non-powered dummy unit, an arrangement commonly supplied in Marx train sets.  This five car set can be found in original sets, indicating they are a complete original set.

Included Pieces:

  1. Baltimore & Ohio #62 Powered Diesel Locomotive – Tin lithographed blue, cream, and yellow body with electric motor and drive mechanism. Operation has not been tested.

  2. Baltimore & Ohio #62 Dummy Diesel Locomotive – Matching unpowered companion unit.

  3. Baltimore & Ohio C518 Caboose – Blue and cream tin lithographed caboose with yellow and black detailing.

  4. Pennsylvania Merchandise Service #37956 Boxcar – Red and silver tin lithographed freight car.

  5. Wabash #80982 Gondola – Yellow and black open-top freight car.  Missing truck.

Condition:

All five pieces are pre-owned and exhibit varying degrees of age-related wear, scratches, scuffs, and lithographic finish wear.

One truck and multiple couplers are missing. The collection requires repair, restoration, or replacement parts to return it to complete operating condition.

The motorized locomotive has not been tested, and operation of the train has not been verified.

Once storage fees exceed any moneys paid, we will have to relist the item without refund.
