Description
Key Features
Nikon Ai-S NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8
A compact manual-focus wide-angle prime for the Nikon F mount, in the Ai-S version of Nikon's classic 24mm f/2.8. Nikon presents it as an affordable wide-angle lens to carry as an everyday lens, and its 84° angle of view makes it well suited to landscape, architecture, street and travel photography.

Optical Design
9 elements in 9 groups. The same optical formula was later carried over to the autofocus AF Nikkor 24mm f/2.8.

Close-Range Correction (CRC)
Nikon's Close-Range Correction system helps maintain consistent image quality throughout the focusing range, from the closest distance of 0.3 m to infinity. Maximum magnification is 0.11x.

Aperture
Aperture range f/2.8-22 with 7 diaphragm blades and a fully automatic diaphragm.

Specifications and Compatibility
52mm filters, dimensions approximately 63 x 46 mm, and a weight of approximately 260 g. With the AI coupling tab and the Ai-S indent, it meters at full aperture on manual-focus Nikon bodies and can be used with the program modes of later models. On DX-format digital bodies, it gives an angle of view equivalent to a 36mm lens.
