Axon 1-PATCH-1U Model Cell Simulates whole-cell clamp and single-channel patch-clamp conditions. Connectors are suitable for U-type CV series headstages. the accuracy of the resistors used in the Patch-1U model cell are 1% for the 10 MΩ (BATH), and 5% for the 500 MΩ (CELL) and 10 GΩ (PATCH). 

The PATCH position uses a 3.3 pF capacitor (in parallel with 10 GΩ resistor). The accuracy of this capacitance is ± 0.5 pF, but wiring capacitance adds about 1 pF. Thus, the Patch-1U has an input loading of 3.8 pF to 4.3 pF in PATCH position.

BATH and CELL positions do not include separate capacitors, but shares the same input capacitance loading as the PATCH position.

CELL position of the Patch-1U uses and additional 33 pF (whole-cell) capacitance with 10% accuracy. Thus, measured whole-cell capacitance should fall between 30 pF and 36 pF.
