Original 1970s African American personal and family archive from Los Angeles, centered around Karen Denise Henderson and her years at Crenshaw High School and later El Camino College. The collection includes approximately a dozen yearbooks, photograph albums, and scrapbooks, along with additional programs and ephemera. Highlights include a heavily signed 1972 Crenshaw High School Cougar's Path yearbook, a 1974 Sceptre annual, and numerous original color and black-and-white photographs documenting school activities, friends, family gatherings, parties, graduations, and everyday life in Southern California.

The scrapbooks contain photographs, newspaper clippings, correspondence, event programs, tickets, invitations, and other personal memorabilia. Also included are Crenshaw High School newspapers, material relating to the Angeles Mesa YWCA Youth Travel Club, El Camino College's 1978 graduation, and a newspaper article documenting Henderson's involvement in a Teamsters union organizing campaign. An interesting and extensive archive documenting African American family life, education, and youth culture in 1970s Los Angeles.

The collection is being offered together as found, with much of the original material still arranged in its albums. Condition varies throughout, with general age-related wear, some loose pages, and occasional fragile material. Please see photographs for details.
