Description

It is always a pleasure acquiring a studio collection and this collection is no different. The artist is Muriel Wheaton who was active in the 1950s/60s and as you will find with each one, her use of vibrant colour resonates with collectors of Modern British Art. To be able to create images of time and place you have to know exactly how to use paint and in my opinion she stands side by side with many of the big names of Mid century art.

This lovely painting depicts a study of a bridge in Venice. It is a great image and is executed in watercolour and is signed and dates circa 1950s and it measures 14x11 inches and comes unframed. The painting is in good condition considering its age and in the right frame it will grace any good collection.
