Vintage 1958 Matchbox Lesney No. 48a Meteor Sportsman Mk II Boat - All Diecast Metal Variant

Up for sale is a fantastic piece of die-cast history: the original 1958 Matchbox Lesney No. 48a Meteor Sportsman Mk II Boat. Manufactured in England, this is the highly sought-after early production variant featuring the completely solid die-cast metal blue hull rather than the later plastic iterations.

The underside is crisply stamped with all original identification markings ("METEOR SPORTSMAN MK II", "MADE IN ENGLAND BY LESNEY", and "NO 48").

Measures approximately 2 1/4" in length

Condition Report:

Hull & Deck: The blue paint on the metal hull remains smooth and displays bright color. The tan deck section shows its authentic vintage aging.
