This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 5½ x 3½ inches (139x88mm).
It shows a large concrete bunker with a domed armoured cupola on its roof, set on a low grassy rise beneath a cloudy sky. In front of it are rows of pyramid-shaped concrete anti-tank obstacles with spreading feet, linked by strands of barbed wire. The foreground is filled with dense barbed-wire entanglements strung between crossed and upright metal stakes. Further concrete obstacles and wire run along the skyline to the right of the bunker.
The reverse has the printed caption 'Großer Beton Bunker' (Large concrete bunker) at the top left. A vertical printed line reads 'M. F. Lenk, Papiergroßhandlung, Znaim.' (M. F. Lenk, paper wholesaler, Znaim), and the stamp box is printed 'Echte Photographie' (Real photograph). A small printed logo and number at the lower left are only partly legible. The card is postmarked 'Znaim 2, 18.III.41' and is marked by hand 'Feldpost!' (Field post). A purple circular stamp is present but its wording is not legible.
The handwritten message in German script is headed 'Znaim, 17. März 41' (Znaim, 17 March 1941) and appears to open 'Liebe Anni!', but most of the text is not clearly legible. The card is addressed by hand to a recipient in Wien (Vienna).
