Antique Victorian watercolour thatched farmstead & figure, signed E. Hamilton.

A pretty antique watercolour of a rural cottage scene - a thatched farmstead framed by trees, with a figure out on the path. Signed E. Hamilton in the corner, in its original stepped card mount and gilt frame, glazed. Sight size about 19 x 13.5cm, frame 33.5 x 29cm.

The cosy English cottage was one of the best-loved subjects of the Victorian era, as sketching tours raced to capture "olde England" before it changed for good.

Good condition, just minor wear.

Victorian, 19th century, English. One of a set of four cottage scenes by the same hand, each listed separately - lovely as a cottagecore group.
