A handsome faceted brass caddy with a domed hinged lid, turned finial and a little brass clasp to keep it closed. 15 x 14cm. There's a visible hand-soldered seam that speaks to traditional metalworking rather than mass production.

Boxes of this shape were made to keep tea, tobacco or trinkets safe from damp and light - and this one still does the job just as well on a shelf.

Good condition with minor wear and an attractive aged patina.

Vintage. A great find for a modern medieval or curiosity core look.
