Signed Phil Clark original oil painting dog portrait 'Sam' black & tan collie.

An original oil portrait of Sam, a handsome black-and-tan collie cross, signed by the artist Phil Clark and dated 1999. Oil on canvas board in a plain waxed wood frame, 33 x 43cm, with the original framer's label from Faire Frame of Andover on the back.

The dog's name lettered in the opposite corner to the signature is the traditional mark of a commissioned portrait - it's how the painter recorded whose dog it was.

Condition is good with only minor wear, no damage to the canvas or the frame.

Painted in England in 1999. Warm and full of character, just right for an English country house or farmhouse-style look.
