Large Antique & Vintage Family Photograph and Ephemera Estate Collection – Original Attic Find – Sold as One Lot

Offered here is a wonderful old estate attic find: a large collection of original family photographs, letters, greeting cards, envelopes, school papers, and assorted personal memorabilia, preserved together in a vintage Lord & Taylor box.

This is an authentic, mixed collection of family memories accumulated over many decades, rather than a modern assortment assembled from separate sources.

The photographs alone number approximately 150, based on a quick count. The exact number may vary slightly. There are also numerous additional paper items, letters, cards, and other keepsakes included in the box.

Contents include:

• Approximately 150 original antique and vintage photographs, including black-and-white snapshots, sepia photographs, formal portraits, family groups, children, houses, travel scenes, and candid photographs

• Photographs showing military uniforms and service-related subjects

• Vintage handwritten correspondence and postmarked envelopes, including airmail

• Old greeting cards, including birthday, Valentine, anniversary, and other personal cards

• School-related papers and original hand-drawn biology illustrations

• Vintage programs, event tickets, ribbons, and miscellaneous paper memorabilia

• The original vintage Lord & Taylor storage box, with handwritten inventory notes attached

The collection appears to span the early 20th century through the 1950s and possibly later. Visible dated material includes photographs associated with 1912, correspondence from the 1940s and 1950s, and keepsakes from 1958 and 1959.

Many photographs depict everyday American family life, including celebrations, military service, vacations, homes, children, and family gatherings. Several photographs have attractive vintage borders, deckled edges, or studio portrait presentation.

The letters, old envelopes, postmarks, and personal inscriptions provide additional historical and genealogical interest.

Condition:

Estate-found vintage condition. The contents appear generally clean and have been stored together in the box, although condition varies from item to item.

Expect typical age-related yellowing, light discoloration, handling marks, bent corners, creases, occasional small tears, and wear to some photographs and papers. The storage box has visible surface wear, old tape, and age-related marks.

The collection has not been individually inventoried or fully examined. The photographs show representative examples of the contents.

Entire box sold together, as found.

Approximate photograph count: 150, give or take a few.
